WHO WE ARE

We're Chuck and Joanne Cosgrove.

OUR SYSTEMS

Our facilities include a certified scale and we've built new corrals on the north ranch to give us the kind of easy handling system we have at home.

Of course, we have health protocols in place and work with our local vet to keep them up to date.  However, if you have a health program in place we can either adapt our to mesh with yours or, if yours has worked for you we can use it.  We'll work with you to do what's best for your cattle.  We do use implants where possible, but if you're in a program that doesn't allow them we'll sure work with you.

Chuck has a lot of experience with individual animal ID and we can use UHF tags in the cattle.  UHF allows us to quickly scan and capture every tag, even from a distance, and gives us the ability to account for all animals and record individual data as needed.  That works well with natural and organic program because we can reliably identify animals that fall out of the program and ensure that they aren't shipped with the majority that are still eligible.

Because all our pastures are right at the corrals and scale we'll be weighing monthly and giving you a progress report.  In addition, all records are online so you can see what animals have been treated within twenty four hours of treatment.

Our corral system is designed to take advantage of the realities of handling cattle quietly: give them someplace to go where they feel they're "getting away from you" (relieve pressure), take advantage of their tendency to want to go back where they came from you,

We can handle over 1,000 head at a time in the facilities.   We have the scale and squeeze in one location so we can use a single Bud Box to feed them,

The system is designed so that we can perform three operations simultaneously.  We can sort cattle (on the left half), then feed them to the squeeze or scale (in the center) and then from there they go into the corrals and alley on the right side where they can be loaded onto a semi.  This system makes for quick, quiet, and safe work.
