Over 3 lbs. per day!

In early September we got 116 head of bred heifers in to put a little polish on before winter. Forty days later they had put on an average of 166 pounds. Now they weren't green by any means and they weren't exceptional cattle - they were good average commercial cattle.

We don't expect to get those kinds of gain through a full season, but we do hope for at least 2.5 pounds on average, assuming good cattle and reliable irrigation.
